Abstract:In 2015, The third International Conference on financing for development in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, established a groundbreaking agreement which provided a global framework for financing the sustainable development outcomes ahead of the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This created an organic relationship between them. This policy brief investigates the gap between pledged and delivered official development assistance (ODA) and the lack of confidence in the quality of ODA statistics. In the context of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, ODA has not received either the proper action or the necessary priority.
